In ASL, the sign for "speak" is to hold an upright "4" handshape with the edge of the forefinger in contact with the chin and tap on the chin twice.his sign can be changed to show different ways of speaking - fast, slow, or angry - by changing how fast you move and what face you make. The sign works everywhere. When talking about speaking with your voice versus using sign language, this helps show which one you mean. It's fine to use anytime.
