In ASL, "do" is shown by tapping two "D" hand shapes together two times. The stronger hand goes on top of the weaker hand while making this quick motion. For questions, signers raise their eyebrows and move their head a bit forward while doing the sign. This sign came from French Sign Language a long time ago and hasn't changed much since then. People use it everywhere, from talking with friends to formal meetings, like when asking "What do you do?" or saying "I do homework." The sign can be made with more force to show stronger action.
